Keep the weapons at the ready

Brahim Harchaoui

Once again, the Zionists are beating on the drums of war after the fulfilment of the last military drill, which was supervised by Gabi Ashkenazi. In addition to that, foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman issued a statement threatening to topple the regime of Bashar al-Asad in any new war. It seems that the Zionists are preparing themselves for a full scale confrontation, with possibly far-reaching consequences, in their quest to restore their weakened military deterrence in the region due to their military failure in the past ten years.

AEL meets Samir Kuntar Print E-mail
Sunday, 22 March 2009

samirkuntar.jpgA delegation of the Arab European League headed by Brahim Harchaoui met Samir Kuntar, one of the resistance heroes of the Arab homeland. Since he was sixteen, Samir Kuntar has never known anything outside his prison cell until he was released as a result of the prisoner swap between Hezbollah and the Zionist entity. After the defeat of the Zionist entity in 2006 inflicted by Hezbollah and their allies in Lebanon, Israel had no other option than to abide to the conditions of Hezbollah, one of which was the release of Samir Kuntar, one of the most prominent Arab prisoners in the Israeli dungeons.

Young of age, Samir Kuntar was dedicated to resisting Israeli occupation of Arab land. When he was 16 years old, he carried out an operation that stunned even his enemies. His unit headed to occupied Palestine by ship in order to carry out operation ‘Gamal Abdel Nasser’. As one of the survivors of this PLF-unit (Palestinian Liberation Front) he was imprisoned for life. In 2008 he was finally released to be received heroically in Lebanon, in what was called ‘Operation Hajj Redwaan’.

AEL had the honour of meeting such a high-profile resistance personality. The delegation discussed a range of issues, from his personal experiences to the last assault on Gaza. AEL is satisfied to share  many insights as Samir Kuntar, especially concerning the armed resistance and the need of increasing the joint Arab-Muslim sacrifice as a means to liberate the Arab homeland and the Muslim world from exploitation, dictatorship, foreign hegemony and occupation.

One of the goals of the AEL is to bridge the gap and to strengthen the ties with the Arab homeland. Hence our eagerness to meet the real representatives of the Arab homeland and our devout efforts to decriminalise the resistance in the West. AEL is currently participating in a European campaign to delete Hamas from the European terror list.
